Draft. Kuvake is in development and is not yet sold. This page describes how it works today and what is planned. Points marked to be confirmed will be settled before the paid version is offered.

What Kuvake is

Kuvake is a photo editor that runs in your browser and edits photos on your own device.

While it is in development

The editor at app.kuvake.app is a preview. You may use it free of charge. It changes often and without notice, features may appear and disappear, and edits saved in your browser may stop opening after an update. It is provided as it is, without any promise that it is fit for a particular purpose. Keep your original photos.

The licence that is planned

Kuvake will be sold as a perpetual licence: you pay once and may keep using what you bought. It will not be a subscription. The price is to be announced.

• Devices: a licence may be in use on up to three devices at the same time.
• Versions: a licence covers every version released within one year of the day you buy it. Those versions remain yours to use after the year ends.

How the three devices are counted, and the terms for refunds, are to be confirmed and will be set out here before anything is sold.

Your photos are yours

We claim no rights in the photos you edit or in the results. We never receive them: see the privacy policy.

Software by others

Camera raw files are decoded by rawler 0.7.2, by Daniel Vogelbacher and contributors, used under the GNU Lesser General Public License 2.1. It is delivered as a file of its own, raw/raw_bg.wasm, apart from the rest of the editor, so that it can be replaced by a build of your own. Its source is at the link above; we have changed it in one place, and that change is here.

Who you are dealing with

Kuvake is made and will be sold by Vapaaradikaali, a Finnish company with the business ID 2302852-4 (VAT number FI23028524). Its postal address and contact details are to be confirmed and will be given here before anything is sold.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Finland. If you buy as a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country you live in continue to apply to you.

Changes

These terms will be revised as Kuvake moves from preview to a product on sale. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
